Fall Fun

Last weekend we headed up to the Luisburg Cider Mill for our 3rd annual Ciderfest!  We were joined by the Lund gang again this year.  It was way too muddy for the pumpkin patch or corn maze but we had a great time eating donuts, drinking cider, face painting, and playing in the bounce house!  The boys thought they were pretty tough and tried to pick up the pumpkins!  Pumpkins 1, Boys 0, maybe next year dudes!

Easton: 17 months

My baby keeps getting bigger and bigger with each day that passes!  I really wish he would slow down but at the same time he is just SO MUCH FUN right now!

MOVIN' AND GROOVIN'
Easton started walking at about 14.5 months.  Ever since then he has not slowed down!  He is determined to keep up with his big brother!  He has had several bonks to prove it.  He can go up stairs confidently but still needs reminders on how to go down.  He loves dancing and has just started to jump (or bend his knees and come up on his toes), he is so proud of himself! video
MEASURING UP
We often hear about how big Easton is.  It is so funny to think that this guy was only 4 lbs when he was born!  One day we dropped him off in the nursery at church and a volunteer commented, "Well there's a chunky one!"  His dad likes to refer to him as husky, his mommy disagrees.  Our friends fondly refer to him as bruiser, tank, and little man.  I think it may have something to do with the way he stomps around, with his arms flexed at his sides, grunting.  I do not have an official weight but he is over 25 pounds.

 FAVORITES
He loves balls.  He tries to have 2 or 3 with him at all times.  He will watch baseball on TV with daddy and immediately say "shrow" and whip something across the room!  He will throw, bounce, and roll balls for hours!

He likes reading books especially Too Many Kisses and Goodnight Gorilla.  He likes to sing "Itsy-bitsy Spider."  He also will sing along with any song on the radio that has "oohs," "oos," or "ahhs!"  It is really cute!

This little monkey LOVES to eat!  He will beg strangers for food.  I saw it today with my own eyes!  He especially loves cookies and cookie batter.  He gets very excited to see the cookie jar and the stand mixer!  After he finishes his dinner Logan will ask him if he wants a cookie and he will shriek and giggle with excitement. He also really loves Mexican quinoa.  Easton is also a big fan of any "dip-dip," katsup, cheese dip, salsa, etc.
He also really loves his shoes and socks.  When he wants to go outside he will bring you his shoes and sit right in front of you!  He loves being outside too!

CHATTER BOX
For a long time he has been saying mama, dada, throw, brother.  He is getting really good at copying what you say.  He can say, cracker, ball, cookie (cook-cook), boo, all done, oh wow, no no (he hears that a lot!).  These days he tells you that a dog says "RRRRR,"  we have tried "woof-woof" but I guess he likes growling better!

LOOKING DAPPER
He is rockin' most of his brother's old 18-24 month clothes.  It is so great to see outfits that are connected to fond memories with Logan.  He also just got his first haircut!  I just let them cut off the baby mullet and trim a little around the ears so he still has a lot of his baby hair!  He did really well, no tears until the very end and that is because he spied a ball!

Summer Fun

Now that we are officially in the swing of school I am able to reflect on the wonderful summer I spent with my boys!

We spent many days at Deana Rose Farmstead.  It has been a favorite of ours ever since we moved here!
Almost 2 years..

Almost 3 years...

Almost 5 years!
This year we picnicked at the park with friends before we went to the farm!

We went to a carnival and Logan rode all kinds of big kid rides!
He even won "Snakey-the-Snake!"

It was great watching my boys become pals!
We had play date after play date!  It is so great having summers off to connect with friends!

We spent a ton of time at our community pool.  Easton was okay floating around but once he learned how to walk he preferred cruising around the hot concrete!
Logan officially became a swimmer this year!  He started off relying on his puddle jumper but once we bought him a pair of goggles he was a little fish!
In June we went to the Lake of the Ozarks with friends and their families.
Logan was a little to fond of the cans that were lying around and was officially dubbed the frat guy.

We celebrated the Fourth of July with my sister's family, my mom and dad, B, and Kasey's brother, Jamie.  Easton loved this flag!
Three little monkeys jumpin' in the bed!

Logan helped his daddy with fireworks this year.  He was so proud of his stash!
Ninja moves with Uncle B-Right.
Trying out a sparkler for the first time.
On July 7th Easton was baptized at Church of the Resurrection West campus by Pastor Jason.

Kasey and I are so happy to have his Auntie Lauren and Uncle Jamie looking out for our dude.

Grandma B. made his cutsie cake.
He thought it was SOO yummy!
We watched Logan play baseball.  He really liked it!  We also learned that his tummy does not handle Gatorade very well!
Easton was bummed they wouldn't let him on the field.  Luckily they lent him a ball!

It just wouldn't be summer without ice cream treats!
Logan would sometimes ask to "nurse" Easton.  It was so sweet to watch him rock his brother while singing "Night, night Easton."  Melt my heart!
We went to Kaleidoscope and created masterpieces.

We went to the Topeka Zoo with Grandma B. and Uncle John.

Logan formally introduced his brother to his favorite flamingos!

Easton had his first train ride at Gage Park.

We even rode the merry-go-round!
Somehow Logan convinced B to make homemade lemon cupcakes that looked like ninjas!  She is one heck of a Grandma!!

More fun at Deana Rose!
Easton's first time feeding the goats.
We took Logan to a soccer event at Power and Light.  He had so much fun collecting goodies from each booth, building a lego soccer player, and going on stage to perform soccer tricks!

And just like that, summer was over.  Kasey, Logan, and I all headed back to school.  Kasey has quickly learned that he does not get very many minutes to himself as the boss man.  I love my class of 13 boys and 5 girls!  Logan is having so much fun during round 2 of Mrs. Wells' preschool.  He has made some new friends and has gotten over his fear of Wally the puppet!
